Did you come to the fair? We had a lovely time. It was the first outdoor event that tested the gazebo to stay up for 3 days—which it did! We put it up on the Friday, just in time to shelter under whilst we had a deluge of rain.

Being at the fair bright and early before the punters arrive is a lovely feeling, you have time to relax into everything and get to know the other hosts. Thankfully we had some sunshine on Saturday and a good breeze.

We were in the rural enterprises area. Our bees were opposite the geese and in the middle of the area between the pigs and the donkeys.

Our observation hive was the big hit. There was lots of interest, everyone wanted to find the queen. Lots of people are interested in the plight of the honey bee, asking about our beginner's course, where to site hives, could they host a hive for someone else. The enthusiasm of the public is brilliant. Everyone seemed to care about honey bees.

If you didn’t get chance to see us put Far Forest Countryside Fair in your diary for next year, 10th and 11th August 2019. It’ll be another great weekend.
