Bee Tea

We set up camp at Bishops Wood in a ready-made picnic area, by the lake.

Books on gardening and bees were out to peruse at your leisure,

people brought a range of plants available to swap, deckchairs and checked picnic rugs,

table set for tea

there were coordinated tablecloths, iced tea, all kinds of cake, scones and biscuits

cakes and sandwiches

and lots of insect-spotting.

We relaxed and chatted, enjoyed the sun and swapped stories about bees, insects in general and Simon’s orchard at Wyre Forest. The beekeepers were off inspecting the hives

and returned with queen stories, perfectly in line with the royal weekend,

and queens in cages on offer to good homes. A good time was had by all. We’ll do this again!
