We hosted a stall as part of this event to encourage more eco living, all run by the council. The public are really interested in talking to us and finding out about beekeeping. Seeing inside a hive—even without bees—is often a big surprise and then lifting an empty frame with a wax foundation sheet compared to a frame full of capped honey. You realise how much honey you can get then, there might be 3 lb of honey in a full National super frame.
The giant snowdrops were a seasonal eye-catcher from across the hall, other stall holders certainly enjoyed them, and also to give people an idea of what bees are foraging from in February.
